Stephen Hawkins is focused on understanding and addressing political polarization.
After growing up among Southern, Evangelical conservatives and then working with progressive activists in New York, he channeled his experience into research about our country's divisions.

His work has been cited by Republican and Democratic Presidential candidates, by Fortune 100 CEOs, and been featured over one thousand times in media, including on the Joe Rogan podcast and the front page of the New York Times.

While at More in Common, Stephen has co-authored some of the most referenced studies on polarization, ideology, misperceptions, distrust, American identity, and interventions to reduce hostility.
